Twisted Nerve are from Edinburgh and formed in 1977! They started out as a punk band but as the 80’s progressed they developed more of a gothic sound and over the years have played with the likes of Siouxsie and the Banshees, The Cure, Psychedelic Furs, the Damned, Sex Gang Children, Theatre of Hate, The Chameleons, Echo and the Bunnymen to name but a few, as well as appearing at the original Batcave Club in London. Since reforming in 2007 to play at the Drop Dead festival in Prague, Twisted Nerve have played all over Europe at all the major alternative gothic punk rock festivals. Last year the band headlined the Near Dark Festival in California and were due to play a mini 24 date tour of the States until the pandemic struck. Also last year Chicago label, Secret Records issued a retrospective double vinyl album in red and blue vinyl covering pretty much of the bands history and sold and is still selling very well in Europe and the States. In the early eighties the band toured relentlessly, doing a Peel session & appearing in the infamous Punk Lives magazine with “Five Minutes of Fame” as single of the month which stayed in the alternative charts for three months. The band played their last show in Edinburgh 1986, completely disillusioned with the music business, the press and their unhealthy lifestyles. The reformation in 2007 was only meant to be a one-off show, but they had such a good time playing the old songs to a new audience that they haven’t stopped and continue to play as long they are asked to do so. All hail the mighty Twisted Nerve.
