We’re delighted to have Expelaires playing the Futurama Festival. A direct request from John Keenan as they played first Futurama in Leeds in 79. Making a direct link to the original festival four decades ago. Inspired by the likes of the Sex Pistols, MC5 and the Stooges they became post punk legends in Leeds and what a great heritage they have. Dave (Wolfie) Wolfenden is still with them and also plays with Red Lorry Yellow Lorry. Craig Adams from the Sisters, Mission and Spear of Destiny is also a former band member. Despite doing a Peel session in 79, it took them 38 years to make their first album ‘Freedom’ which came out in 2016 which has to be some sort of record. Expelaires have a lot of Liverpool connections supporting both Echo and the Bunnymen and the Teardrop Explodes. Previously signed to a one single deal with Bill Drummond and Dave Balfe’s Zoo Records. They recorded two tracks ‘To See You’ and ‘Frequency’ which appeared as a single but also on the Zoo Uncaged compilation 1978 -1982. Experience true Futurama royalty with the Expelaires.
